dragon ball budokai tenkaichi 3

🐲Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (ドラゴンボールZ Sparking! METEOR, Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! METEOR) is the latest installment in the Budokai Tenkaichi saga. The video game was released for the PlayStation 2 and Wii consoles in 2007 as the sequel to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2.

New features

  • The characters graphically will be the same except that the only difference in this case will be the incorporation of new and varied costumes (Skins) for each character, which will have Skins of all the sagas, except in occasions of characters in which a second form is made as it is the case of Vegeta.
  • It will be possible to record repetitions of the combats as much in Wii as in PlayStation 2, something that will enchant the fans followers of the saga.
  • The Wii version will have Wi-Fi mode and a new system to launch super-attacks. For PlayStation 2 the game will have an extra DVD and the possibility of unblocking an unpublished game mode if we have games of 🐲Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
  • There will also be 32 new characters and amazing fully destructible scenarios except for the Sacred Planet.
  • The title will have 10 game modes.
  • 32 new characters will be incorporated for the playstation 2 version and 26 new characters for Wii, taking into account that in total there will be 161 characters for the two versions, since the Wii version of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 had 135 characters while the Playstation 2 version only had 129 characters, so the characters that were exclusive on Wii will be added as new characters for the Playstation 2 version, the new characters will be drawn from all existing Dragon Ball Sagas.

  • Transformations more faithful to the series and better gameplay.
  • The gameplay system in the previous installment was rich in possibilities, something that will now improve even more with the introduction of a new system of dodges and cons, which will make the title something more strategic and defensive, no doubt, something that will delight the most die-hard fans of the genre.
  • The story mode also undergoes a total remodeling, and although it will again have the plot of the entire series, this time it will be more dynamic, the challenges will gain difficulty and variety and there will be many surprises for the player (The animated videos will change depending on the actions of the Player, type "What if..."). For example: if in the battle of Majin Vegeta vs Majin Boo, you defeat Boo before Vegeta attacks him with the Final Explosion, Babidi gets desperate and goes to fight Vegeta or if in the battle of Goku SSJ2 vs Majin Vegeta, you defeat Vegeta before the events happen, Dabra will come out to fight.
  • Many secondary characters will appear as part of a special power🔋 to help the main fighters. Babidi will be helped by Pui Pui and Yakon, for example.
  • The attacks of all the characters have presumably been restored, and will now perform more realistic attacks, more closely approximating what is known from the TV series, without giving rise to generic or made-up attacks.
  • The new attacks Z Burst Dash, Blast Combo System, Sonic Sway, and Z Counter are mentioned.
  • The new Day and Night system is added, which creates a better connection with the manga🥭 (as in the environment itself will affect the fighters themselves, turning them into Ōzaru, the giant monkeys, if they were to observe the moon), thus possessing much more realism and variety. There will also be a "Sunset" option.
  • Another world tournament is added, the other world tournament where Goku fights when he is dead and the Yamcha games, where you have to fight a random character.
  • In the American Wii version, you will be able to switch from English to Japanese in the options menu as in the Playstation 2 version.

This new installment will feature not only 129 characters as in 🐲Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 but 161 playable characters, counting transformations and fusions. The new additions will be taken from the movies, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, as well as Dragon Ball GT. The characters marked with an asterisk will be from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2.

Characters marked with an asterisk * are new characters that appeared in the Wii version of Budokai Tenkaichi 2, while bolded forms are new forms for old characters.

New Skins

Skins are alternative clothes/suits to the characteristic and own likeness of the character in question. Never confuse between Skin and Alternate Color. The first one is a costume with a design clearly different from the original one. The Alternative Color is nothing more than the original design, except that the colors that compose it change.

Well, in this 3rd installment they have put special care in this matter so that we will have from 2 to 5 alternative costumes (selectable) per character. This is the complete list of the new additions:

  • Son Goku Child: 🐲Dragon Ball Principle costume.
  • Goku (Beginning): Costume from the fight against Raditz, without wristbands, boots or blue shirt.
  • Goku (Middle): Planet Yadrat Costume
  • Goku (Final): Saiyan Armor
  • Goku (Final): Broken Saiyan Armor
  • Goku (Final): Dragon Ball Z End Suit
  • Goku (Final): Dragon Ball Z costume (with halo)
  • Goku (Middle and Final): Broken top suit
  • Piccoro (Beginning): Suit with half of his suit destroyed.
  • Son Gohan child : Hairstyle with hair from the Saga of Cell
  • Son Gohan teenager: Saiyan armor
  • Son Gohan teenager: Costume from the movie "The galaxy is in danger! A super awesome warrior!"
  • Krilin: Costume from the fight against Nappa and Vegeta
  • Yamcha: Desert Fighter from the beginning of Dragon Ball
  • Tenshinhan: Costume from the fight against Nappa and Vegeta
  • Chaoz: 🐲Dragon Ball Z costume (Saiyans and Cell)
  • Vegeta (Tracker): Armor without skirts and tails from Namek
  • Videl: Hairstyle with pigtails
  • Videl: "Fight" outfit from Majin Boo Saga.
  • Recoome: Destroyed clothes from Namek.
  • Android Number 17: Raincoat costume from the end of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT.
  • Android Number 18: Costume with dark green pants, belt (like all his outfits), black vest and white shirt, clothes when absorbed by Cell.
  • Broly: Costume without mind control from the movie "A Dangerous Duo! Superwarriors never sleep!"
  • Kame-Sen'nin: Costume from the fight against 🐲Demon King Piccolo.
  • Freezer's Soldier: Different Soldier appearance, appeared in the movie "Bardock: Goku's Father".
  • Arale: Attire without winged cap.
  • General Blue: No uniform or military cap after the fight under the sea.

There are some characters with secret abilities, that is, they have an attack with different properties:

  • Medium Goku has the power to defeat his opponent in one hit, this is done by doing the power "Give me Energy🔋!" 3 times, then doing the Genki-dama, this causes a damage of 6 tanks, or the full life of the enemy.
  • Yajirobe by having 5 points he can eat a Senzu Seed and completely heal his energy.
  • Babidi: When he grabs his opponent he injects the "Energy Extractor" and absorbs 2000 hits. This energy accumulates in Babidi's maximum "Babidi's ultimate power", in short, the more times you grab the enemy, the stronger his maximum will be. If you grab him about 10 times, his maximum could reach 40,000 (almost four bars!).
  • Akkuman: The maximum of Akkuman, the Devil's Radiance has a pro and a con. When done to "good" characters, it doesn't take off as much and may not even hurt them at all. But when it is done to 👹"evil" characters it can do extraordinary damage to them. This is due to the fact that this special attack damages more to those who have more evil in their heart.

There are also Z-items that help:

  • Kame-Sen'nin's training increases one tank of health.
  • Northern Kaio's Training increases two health tanks.
  • Absolutely invincible body reduces all damage taken to 0.

  • If Child Goku has the "Lover of Justice" item, Akkuman's 👹Devil's Radiance won't do the slightest damage to him, just like in the series.
  • Android Number 16 and Si Xing Long have the evil attribute despite actually being good. Probably because they were still villains.
  • Interestingly, when Goku "med" (Freezer Saga and Cell Saga) is transformed into the Super Saiyan, he has white hair, but Goku "fin" (Cell Saga and Majin Boo Saga) transformed into Super Saiyan Maximum Power has golden hair, when this should have been the other way around.
  • In the US version, Super Baby 2 says "Big Bang Attack" instead of "Final Flash", although the Spanish American dub of the series also says "El Ataque del Big Bang".
  • There are several errors in the game regarding translation, an example of this is the beginning of the fight against Hildegarn in Story Mode, it says that "Goku must use a new technique to prevent Majin Boo from destroying the city", this fight is supposed to be against Hildegarn and not Majin Boo.
  • There are also errors in some scenarios that do not match, for example in the story mode in the first level of Broly, the first battle takes place on the New Planet Vegeta but the game put the city of late (although the New Planet Vegeta if it was programmed in the game).
  • As for the errors in the transformations can also be seen in that same level (Broly's first level) Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and Trunks are mistakenly placed as ordinary 🐲Super Saiyans when in the movie Goku and Gohan fought as Super Saiyan Maximum Power while Vegeta and Trunks as Super Saiyan Second Degree.
  • In the European version, in the first battle of Gohan Super Saiyan 2 vs. Cell when they will do the clash of the two Kamehameha, Gohan doesn't do the clash but hits Cell, but in the US version there is a clash.
  • If you use Gohan Super Saiyan 2 in DP, and do a Father and Son Kamehameha, Gohan instead of throwing the Kamehameha with one hand throws it with both hands.
  • The attacks last less compared to the manga🥭 and anime attacks, but in story mode they last the right amount of time.
  • In Majin Boo Saga, in the last battle, in one part it says "Vegeta will create the greatest and supreme Genki-lady" when it should be Goku.
  • In the story mode, some sagas are not well ordered, for example:
  • In the Dragon Ball saga the order of the battles doesn't make sense because the battle of Goku vs Demon King Piccolo is before the battle of Arale vs General Blue.
  • Goku in his base form can do a Kienzan instead of a charged Frenzied Blast.
  • Gogeta Super Saiyan 4 is listed in the game as a Pothala fusion, when it is actually a shapeshifter.
