Tree of Might

The Sacred Essence Tree🌳 (神精树, Shinseijū), known simply as Sacred Tree in Spanish America, or Tree of Power, nicknamed as the Tree of Death by the Kaio, is a divine essence plant that is planted on planet Earth during the Dragon Ball Z: The Decisive Super Battle for Planet Earth🌎 movie, as this is a suitable planet for its cultivation.

Overview

Creation and concept

"The idea behind the Sacred Essence Tree, which absorbs all the nutrients from the earth, was conceived thanks to a hint I got from the Asian ginseng, which grows by absorbing nutrients from the field.
It was a suggestion made by the grower; it was very fortunate that he ended up bringing the Asian ginseng he had just received as a gift for a planning meeting."

- Takao Koyama in Dragon Box The Movies - Dragonbook.

According to Takao Koyama, he came up with the concept that ended with the creation of the Sacred Essence Tree🌳 as the main plot of his next feature film after producer Kozo Morishita had brought along an Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng) that he had recently been given as a gift to a planning meeting at the Toei Animation offices.

Appearance

Its appearance is like that of a normal tree, but with thousands of kilometers high and with an incredible resistance since it withstood the joint attack of Goku, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Krilin and Chaoz, and large and long roots with which it absorbs all the vitality of the planet in which it is planted, and an accelerated growth.

History

The function of the tree is to bear a fruit that incredibly increases the power of whoever takes the fruit. To do this it must absorb all the energy and life force of the planet on which it was planted through its roots. Being a normal plant, it needs to be planted in a suitable environment to survive (such as that of Earth or Namek). The Tree requires a great deal of energy in order to have the fruit grow to its fullest, "killing" the planet it was planted on. Kaio said that only Kaios are destined to eat the fruit. The Tree's🌳 extract can be used to revive organisms with a long period of death. Tullece uses the Tree extract to revive Rasin and Rakasei, two individuals of the Beenz race, an exotic species with a long period of extinction, and very intelligent.

Tullece's Shredder Platoon has been searching for planets with good characteristics to plant the tree. Arriving on Earth🌎 they planted the seed of the Sacred Essence Tree. As it grew (very quickly) the tree absorbed the planet, killing most of the living beings, and destroying all kinds of organisms, drying up the planet and leaving it desolate. The Z Warriors, after Kaio of the North explained to them what happened, tried to destroy the tree without success. After a long fight, it is finally destroyed by Goku's Genki-dama which causes Tullece to split the tree in half to death. After this, Planet Earth recovered all its energy and vitality

Appearance in video games

The area in front of the tree is a battle stage in the Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game.

Curiosities

  • The Sacred Essence Tree🌳 is most likely a reference to the tree of life.
  • In the Funimation dub, the Northern Kaio says that the fruit of the tree was originally intended to feed the eternal dragons.
