Whis (ウイス, Uisu) is one of the 12 Angels assigned to guide the Gods of Destruction. Whis has been assigned to Universe 7 and charged with training, following and guiding Beerus, the God of Destruction of that Universe. Far surpassing Beerus in terms of power, he will train Son Goku and Vegeta after their initial encounter.🔱
He appears as the direct advisor of Beerus. Moreover, he seems to know perfectly the role of the Hakai-Shin. Despite this vocation, he is peaceful and discreet. He has, like Beerus, a refined taste for food and appreciates very much the food of the Earth.
He seems to have a great knowledge of the universe, which is shown when he talks about the Dragon Balls and the planet Namek. His knowledge also brings a lot of information about Beerus and the Saiyans.
The scenario will put him in the background during the final fight between Goku and Beerus, preferring to be interested in ice cream and ask some culinary questions to the earthlings. The character then takes the opposite of the very real threat of Beerus.
Although Whis has not demonstrated the extent of his powers outside of video games, he is currently considered the most powerful being in Universe 7. His power is far superior to that of Beerus, who himself managed to defeat Son Goku in Super Saiyan 3, Gotenks, Son Gohan, Vegeta and Majin Boo.
He managed to knock out Beerus and this easy one who will wake up only in 3 years. According to Akira Toriyama, on a scale of power, Goku in Super Saiyan God would be at 6, Beerus at 10 and finally Whis at 15.
The movie F's resurrection allows us to see Whis training Son Goku and Vegeta, the opportunity to understand that Whis is clearly the most powerful of the universe 7.🌌
With the Dragon Ball Super series, Whis becomes a very popular character while remaining enigmatic. He is extremely perceptive and his knowledge often hits the mark with the puzzles.
Unlike Beerus, Whis is not competitive and remains a loyal character. It should also be noted that Whis shows a certain tenderness towards Son Goku.
Movie 14: Dragon Ball Z - Divinity and Divinity (Battle of the Gods)
Whis is the one who taught martial arts to the God of Destruction Beerus, and he seems to supervise the succession of the gods of destruction of the seventh universe, down to the smallest detail.
In the film, Whis visits Beerus' temple and tells him to get up or he will start singing into a microphone. When Beerus wakes up, he asks if Freezer destroyed the planet Vegeta during his nap because the Saiyan and Freezer were in conflict, and King Vegeta was stingy according to him. Whis tells Beerus that Freezer was killed by a Saiyan, so he uses his scepter as a projector to show the past battle between Goku and Freezer on Namek. He also explains that the surviving Saiyan are now living on Earth, including Vegeta and he tells him that the remaining Saiyan can transform into Super Saiyan.
Whis is later with the god of destruction on the planet of the god Kaio. When they arrive on the planet, the God of Destruction complains that Kaio's planet is so small, but Whis reminds him that he is the reason why it is so small because he was the one who destroyed it after losing a game of hide and seek and going mad. Later, Beerus fights with the heroes, Whis is in a restaurant near the Capsule Corporation and he has apparently developed a taste for Sushi. At the end of the movie, Beerus reveals to Son Goku that Whis is his master and that he is stronger than him.
Whis asks Goku if he would like to be the next god of destruction in case Beerus dies, but Goku refuses. Kaïô Shin himself comments on Goku's friendship with the God of Destruction. Beerus is completely tired, so they go back to his planet. By an unfortunate accident, Beerus becomes crazy, it is then that Whis hits him on the neck and orders him to sleep for three more years.
Movie 15: Dragon Ball Z: The Resurrection of "F"
l takes charge of Gokû and Vegeta and trains them himself. He is so fast that during the repeated attacks of the two Saiyan, he has time to mark his symbol on their clothes. He understands that Son Goku is too confident in his skills, and advises that they should fight together and not with Vegeta, and we learn that Whis sometimes changes the time when Beerus makes mistakes, and sometimes without his knowledge. Feeling little concerned by the return of Freezer, he tastes with Beerus the dessert that Bulma prepared for him.🐲
When Freezer blows up the planet, Whis takes sides with Son Gokû and makes time come back three minutes before that, so that Gokû does not repeat his mistake with Freezer.
Saga of the God of Destruction, Beerus
Whis is seen with Beerus when they destroy a hostile planet. Beerus expresses a wish to fight a Divine Super Saiyan but Whis is perplexed as to the existence of such a fighter. The events of the Dragon Ball series are then more or less identical to the movie with a few variations.
Saga of the God of Destruction, Champa
Whis and Beerus are visited by Champa and Vados, the latter being Whis' sister. After endless arguments between the two gods of destruction, Champa and Beerus propose to create a competition between their best warriors of their respective universe.
Vados and Whis referee the match with a watchful eye, and generally know a lot more than the gods of destruction (especially for Vados). He will confront his measured opinion to Beerus several times.
Note that Whis is the only one who understood the deception that Monaca represents.
Saga of Trunks of the Future
While a new disturbing threat seems to pursue Trunks from the future, Whis and Beerus are spectators of the fight between Gokû and Black Gokû.
Several important things are described about Whis and Beerus, time travel is strictly forbidden by the non-divine personalities. Moreover, Whis notices that Black Goku has a time ring, an artefact that only the Kaïô Shin can use. Black Goku's KI seems to resemble that of the apprentice Zamasu.
When Son Gokû faces Zamasu in a friendly fight, Whis has no doubt about Black Gokû's identity. In this, her investigation is a real success since it is once again accurate. On his side, Son Gokû doesn't perceive things in the same way, because Zamasu's heart doesn't have as much aggressiveness as Black Gokû.
Seeing the turn of events in Trunks' alternate future, Whis and Beerus propose to take action. Whis' goal is to eliminate Zamasu before he becomes Black Goku later on. Thanks to his temporal power which consists in going back in time, he waits for the precise moment when Zamasu will try to kill his master Gowasu. Catching him in the act, Beerus kills Zamasu without warning.
Unfortunately, Zamasu's knowledge deceives Whis, as Whis has a time ring, so the action in the present no longer has a cause in the future. Zamasu and Black Goku are intact in the future for this reason.⬛
While Son Goku meets the Zen'ô king, we learn that his servant is none other than the father of Whis and Vados. His father is more powerful than him according to him (one of the 5 most powerful people, all Universes combined).
Saga of the Survival of the Universe
Following a clumsiness of Son Gokû, his enthusiasm to meet new powerful opponents leads to the tournament of the survival of the universe. The defeated of this tournament will see their universe destroyed by the Zen'ô king. The rules of this tournament are dictated by Whis' father, the High Priest.
Unlike Beerus, even if his universe loses the tournament, Whis is the only living entity that will survive the destruction.
Note that Whis causes the rapid birth of Bra thanks to his numerous powers. The birth of Bra allows Vegeta to be available to fight in the tournament.
Beerusis is the fusion between Whis and Beerus via an EX-Fusion. This fusion was introduced in Dragon Ball Fusions.
